Mexico Beaches at Playa del Carmen and Cozumel
Whether on the Pacific or Caribbean coasts Mexico has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
We are going to take a closer look at Playa del Carmen and Cozumel which are two of the country's most popular destinations.
Playa del Carmen
Playa del Carmen is known among tourists and even locals has having one of the best looking beaches on the Caribbean coast.
For many years it was a sort of hidden gem but about a decade ago it started to become more widely known and nowadays the town is growing at an alarming rate.
This is definitely not the place to go if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful holiday.
During the popular season, the tourist season, one finds cruise ships and other watercraft jamming the waters, vying for space.
If on the other hand you are looking to visit a resort then this is surely one of the best choices that you could make.
With a pumping nightlife to keep you awake until dawn you will be able to watch the sun rise as you enjoy the beauty of the beaches.
When it comes to catering to the tourist's needs and preferences this is the place.
During the day you could enjoy some diving in the waters that are so clear you can see everything, or you can relax on the beach.
When you feel like something a little more physical the hiking possibilities inland are wonderful.
Cozumel
Typical of the Caribbean is the island of Cozumel which is situated of the Yucatan Peninsula.
If you have ever seen a Corona beer commercial you will surely have noticed the exquisite white beaches and crystal clear waters of Cozumel.
The island offers beautiful beaches, great world-class diving, dolphin petting and relaxation.
Still holding onto its relaxed and laid back heritage even though it is on the cruise ship circuit, Cozumel manages to rival the smaller relaxed destinations such as the Mexican Riviera.
Although buffeted by Hurricane Wilma back in October of 2005 it has once again become a firm favorite with visitors and will continue to be for a long time to come.
If the Mexican Riviera is on your itinerary then you should definitely include Playa del Carmen and Cozumel as destinations of choice.
Of course, some would say that Cozumel would be the one to go to if you cannot visit both for whatever reason.
